GENERAL INFORMATION
The Caricias de Sol Foundation is a non-profit organization for children with disabilities in the Urabá region of Colombia. The purpose of this campaign is to initially raise enough money to recruit special staff to serve more children.
Your generosity will help us a lot, this is because at this moment there are only 52 children with disabilities in the organization, but only in Apartadó (which is a city within the Urabá region) there are more than 1,700 children with disabilities. So, in that way, any cooperation will bring well-being and education to children with disabilities.
WHAT DO WE NEED
We need $ 26,400,000 Colombian pesos, it is around $ 7,300 dollars. This is to hire a specialized teacher for 12 months (salary around ~ $ 2,000,000 COP per month) and + 10% to cover taxes on money transfers. There will be special gifts for those who donate more than US $ 100, such as pictures and videos made especially for them by the children.
YOUR IMPACT
By helping with this project you will be helping a community that has been forgotten in a region that suffered a lot of violence in the past. In this way, you could help make the world a better place by lending a hand to those who strive to do so. We've shown everyone that these children's "disabilities" are just special abilities.
CHALLENGE
The pandemic produced by Covid greatly affected the Colombian economy. So, most of the local companies that helped us had to withdraw from the project. Fortunately, we have been able to easily adapt to the digital classroom and work with small groups at school.
